Unit 2 What a day!

Period 1 Story time



教学目标

1.能初步理解并会听、会说、会读和会拼写单词及词组:cloudy, rainy, sunny, windy ;会运用句型:It was sunny / cloudy / windy / rainy.

2.能初步听懂并会说、会读单词:show, interesting, weather, high, honey, ant, bee, cloud, sky, rain.

3.能初步感知识记本课不规则动词过去式及读音。

4.能初步感知天气表达的句型。

5.能够对英语书写日记格式有一定的了解。



教学重难点

1.对本课重点词汇的听、说、读、写;

2.对本课天气表达的句型的掌握;(难点)

3.对动词过去式的不规则变化的认读。(难点)



教学方法

情境教学法、任务阅读、复述、巩固运用。



学法指导

本节课以日记的方式呈现语言,促进学生讨论交流,在特定语境表达新词汇,增进了解记忆与自主运用。以趣味阅读为主、演练相结合,促进学生自我建构和输出语言的能力。

Step 1 Warming-up

1.Greetings and free talk

2.Enjoy a song and answer:What is the title of the song?

It’s about “weather”.Teach:weather

Teach: sunny cloudy windy rainy(板书生词)

3.Read the article Golden Touch and answer the question.

Q1:Who was Midas? Q2:What did he love?

Q3:Was he satisfied with what he had? Why?

Step 2 Before-reading

1.Do you want to know more about me ?

T(Show and guess ):My favourite food is honey. Teach :honey

Favourite animal----parrots ----parrot show

Hobbies----I like drawing and writing diaries(日记).

2.T:Look at my pictures. They are about the weather.

Work in pairs.

A:How was the weather? B:It’s sunny/cloudy/windy/rainy.

3. Lead in the story.

Show a picture Ask: Who is she? Ss: She’s Yang Ling.S:…

T: She likes drawing and writing diaries ,too.

Discuss:How to write a diary? (Date, special things..)

T: What day was it today? SS: It’s Sunday.

What date was it today? Ss: 20th September (Read and drill)

Step 3 While-reading

T: We talked about weather just now.

How was the weather in Yang Ling’s diary?

1.Watch and answer: sunny-became windy and cloudy—rainy

Read and find the sentences about the weather.

Drill in class.

2.What special things did Yang Ling do?

T:It was sunny in the morning. What did she do ?

Read the passage on Page 16 and answer the following questions.

(1)How was the weather in the morning?

(2) How did Yang Ling go to the park?

(3) What did they do in the park?

3.Read Page 17 by yourself.

Task 1: Read and find the answers to the questions.

① What did they bring for lunch?

② Could they eat their lunch? Why?

Check the answers.

Task 2: Discuss the question :

They had a happy day.Do you think so? Why?

Teach: rain-rained hungry and wet What a day!

What do you think of Yang Ling’s day?

(PPT)Explain the meaning of “What a day!”

3.Rand order (Page 18) Read the sentences one by one.

Teach and drill the past forms of the verbs

go→went see→saw become→became

fly→flew bring-brought can’t→couldn’t

Step 4 Post-reading

1.Listen to the tape and repeat. Let’s dub together.

2.Read in groups of 4.

3.Retell the story in class.(Use the key words to help the students)

4.Read and judge (Page 18)

Step 5 Homework

1.Read the diary fluently and retell it.

2.Copy the new words and phrases and remember them by heart..

3.Preview “Grammar time”and “ Fun time”.

Read the story The Golden Touch from page 13 to page 14.

Answer the questions.

(1)What was the name of the king?

(2)What did the king like?

(3)What did the king own?

(4)How did the God punish the king?

(5)Did the king like the golden flowers?

(6)Why was the king very sad?

3.Get the students to retell the story .

Step 3 Revision

1.T shows the students some pictures, ask them to retell the story the King’s new clothes. What do you think of the story or people?

Think and say:Tell us the differences and the same points between stories and diaries.

3.Look at the pictures and answer the questions.

What was the weather like on Sunday?

Where did they go? What did they see?

Did the weather change later?

What did they do?

What did they bring for lunch?

What happened to their lunch?

In the afternoon, what happened?

4.Get the students to look at the key words and retell the story.

Step 4 Grammar Time

Group work

Read Yang Ling’s diary and underline the sentences of the simple past tense.Read the sentences.

2.Classify the sentences of the simple past tense.

be动词一般过去式: was were

动词过去式的不规则变化

tell → told get → got say → said

3.Do you know more past forms of the verbs?

swim → swam drink → drank run → ran

make → made have/has → had eat → ate

draw → drew buy → bought teach → taught

4.Try to remember the past forms of the verbs.

5.Read the sentences in pairs.

How do you talk about the weather?

It was sunny/cloudy/windy/rainy.

rain+y → rainy(多雨的) cloud+y → cloudy(多云的)

wind+y → windy(有风的) snow+y → snowy(下雪的)

6.Consolidation
