餐桌文明是人类文明的缩影。“一粥一饭，当思来之不易；半丝半缕，恒念物力维艰。”“光盘行动”唤起了人们爱惜粮食、反对浪费的责任，弘扬了中华民族勤俭节约的优良传统，也培育了新的生活观、消费观，实在是一种利国、利民、利己的美德善举，值得大力提倡和践行。
光盘行动试图提醒与告诫人们：饥饿距离我们并不遥远，而即便时至今日，珍惜粮食，节约粮食仍是需要遵守的古老美德之一。
“光盘”行动广泛传播，体现了人们对请客吃饭时造成的铺张浪费有了一次理性的回归；另一方面，这项活动与国家严打贪污腐败，杜绝党内不良作风以及移风易俗开展新风尚的大思想不谋而合。
介绍光盘行动的兴起；
原因：对铺张浪费的一种抗议；；弘扬艰苦分动精神，反对奢靡浪费之风
影响：唤起了人们的责任感
In the 21st century, it is no longer the hungry society of more than 30 years ago. People no longer feel pity for a little food. More and more food waste is becoming a common practice.
Recently, CD-ROM operation has quietly sprung up on campus. The "CD-ROM action" is in favour of people to cultivate the habit of thrift, opposes extravagance and waste, and calls on everyone to cherish food. This action was initially initiated by a small non-profit organization. At present it has become an action actively advocated by the whole Chinese people.
There are two principal reasons for CD-ROM action :
First of all, combined with the actual environment, in the wake of the times and the development of production efficiency, it seems that the Chinese people have long extricated themselves from the dilemma of hunger. In the 21st century ,China is not as full of hunger and poverty as it used to be . The public no longer feel pity for a little food. A mounting number of food waste is coming into vogue. Accordingly, a CD-ROM campaign quietly rising on the campus is undoubtedly a protest against this kind of extravagance and waste.

In my opinion, CD-ROM action tries to remind and warn people that hunger is not far away from us, and even today, cherishing and saving food is still one of the ancient virtues to be observed.
