 Step 1. Lead-in.

Ask students to watch a video to elicit the new lesson.

1）Talk about my after-school activities these days.

2) Talk about students’ favourite musicians and singers.

Step 2.Presentation.

1) Question: Do you have favourite song? What facts do you know about your favourite singer, band or song?

2) Read the text and summarize the main idea of the text.

Step3 While-reading

1. Teacher: Who can tell me the main idea of the text?

One student answers: …. Another student says:

Teacher: Based on the questions in1c. summarize the main information of each paragraph.

Teacher: Well done! Let’s continue to learn the sentences in the text.

2. Teach students the language points in the text. Explain the sentences in the text.

3. Translate the whole text.

4. Complete the sheet after reading on page 63 “Country Music Fact Sheet”
