教学目标：

1. To learn comparative and superlative . .

形容词原级、比较级、最高级的不同表达句式，如higher than any other mountain, a lot bigger than, almost, as big as等/。

教学过程：

Step 1 Warm-up and lead-in

1.Review new words.

Ask students to read the new words of this lesson according to phonetic symbols. Then divide the class into two groups to start a game to see “which group read more loudly and more correctly?"

设计意图:为了提高学生的竞争意识和发扬团体合作精神，能以最激昂的热情进入今天的上课状态。

2. Show students four pictures on the screen, Then ask them to say some sentences about superlative. For example:

This is a picture of .

It's very .

It is the in the world.

Then finish la and discuss it,

Qomolangma the Nile the Caspian Sea the Sahara

8,844.43 meters high 6,671 kilometers long 1,025 meters deep 9,600,000 square kilometers in size

设计意图:用图片展示让学生更清楚地看到“珠穆朗玛峰、尼罗河、里海和撒哈拉沙漠”，然后就这个话题引发学生的兴趣，让学生有兴趣用这四张图片展开练习。

Step 2 Pair work

Students in groups describe the length , depth, area, height and width of the four pictures.

1.in size 在尺寸上，在大小方面

2. any other +可数名词单数 = the other +可数名词复数 = anyone else

3. population 人口数量 谓语动词用单数

询问人口数量： What is the population of ……?

4. 修饰比较级的词 much 、even 、still 、far 、a lot 、a great deal 、a little 、a bit 、rather

修饰最高级的词：序数词、by far 、 nearly 、 almost 等
