Teaching aims

Knowledge aims

Enable Ss to read and listen the new words: different, any, television, grandchildren.

Enable Ss to read, listen and write the words: ago, life.

Enable Ss to master the sentences: There were/weren’t ….  There are….

We lived…many years ago.  We live…now.

Ability aim

Enable Ss to use the sentence pattern “There be ……,We lived…many years ago. We live…now.” to talk about the things in life and study.

Emotion aim

Enable Ss cherish our happy life by comparing the past life and the present life.

Teaching Key point and Difficult point

Key point : Enable students to master the new words and the new sentence patterns.

Difficult point: Enable students to use the sentence pattern “ There be ……,We lived…many years ago. We live…now.”in activities and daily life.

Teaching aids: pictures , word cards and CAI

Teaching procedures

Step 1 Warming up

Greetings: Good morning, boys and girls ! How are you?

play a game : HOU YAN JIN JING.

Words: went, lived, was , weren’t …

T: Are you happy ? I am very happy to see you again.

Free talk: :“-Did you have a good time in your winter holidays? -What did you do in your holidays?

-Where did you go?

( 设计意图:通过游戏来调动学生的学习热情,同时又让学生复习了一些单词的过去式。而通过师生间的问答,教师可以帮助学生回顾相关的语言知识,例如:一般过去时的用法、常用词汇等,为后面的教学做铺垫。)

Step 2 Lead in

T: In the winter holiday you had a lot of changes. Some became fat, and some became tall.
