Unit 1 Stay Healthy.

Lesson 5 Jane’s Lucky Life

1. Analysis of the Students

The students of Grade 9 have mastered certain vocabularies,expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of self-teaching and working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English.

2. Analysis of Teaching Content

Lesson 5 is the fifth lesson in Unit 1, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject staying healthy. Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 5 mainly talks about Jane’s lucky life, because of Jane’s diet is healthy.

【知识目标】

1. Learn and use the new words in specific language situations and reading skill practice.

2. Talk about the problems they may meet every day and find ways to solve the problems by learning from different examples and getting help from others.

【能力目标】

Improve reading ability of using English.

【情感目标】

Through the study of the lesson can make the students learn about the ways of study.

【教学重点】

To master the new words and phrases.

【教学难点】

To talk about the ways to solve the problems in their life.

Tape recorder, Multimedia

Step 1. Warm-up

Free talk: 1. Can disabled people live a happy life? Why or why not?

2. If you have a problem, what do you do first?

Step 2. Presentation

Show the new words (with their pictures).

2. Explain the words: damage and disabled

3. Listen and true or false

(1) Jane became disabled when she was forty. ( )

Step 4. Consolidation

Group work: Discuss which of these things do you think is the most important. Money, family, friends, healthy a good job or good looks? Why? Talk with your partner.

Step 5. Homework

1. Finish the exercises in the activity book.

2. Recite the new words.
