一、教学目标:
1.语言知识目标:
能够听、说、认读本课的重点单词:was,then, grandparent, were, young, old, hair, so ,short, long.
2.语言技能目标:
能初步理解并使用was ,were来谈论过去的事情和情况。
3.情感态度目标:
能发现人物和事物过去与现在的变化,培养学生善于观察的能力。
二、教学重点和难点:
1.听、说、认读单词:was, then, grandparent, were, young, old, hair, so ,short, long.
2. 能听懂、会读、理解课文大意。
3.使用 “was” “were”描述从过去到现在发生的变化。
4.then的发音。
三、教具准备:多媒体课件、单词卡、照片。
四、教学过程:
Step1: Let’s chant.
Big big. It ’s big.
Small small. It ’s small.
Tall, tall. I am tall.
Short, short. You are short.
Fat, fat. He’s fat.
Thin, thin. She’s thin.
Old, old. They are old.
Young, young. We are young.
Step2: Presentation
1)幻灯片展示教师自己的近照和两岁时的照片。
I was two then. My hair was short then .
Now I am 40. Now my hair is long.
2)幻灯片出示姚明的近照和小时的照片。
He was fat then. He is thin now.
He was short then. He is tall now.
3)幻灯片出示谢娜的近照和小时的照片。
She was cute then. She is beautiful now.
【设计意图】充分运用照片这种直观教具创设情景,使学生在情景中较容易地理解was的用法。
4)Let’s chant.

was was she was
was was he was
【设计意图】让学生在轻松的环境中运用人称与be动词的搭配。
5)幻灯片展示爷爷奶奶的近照和他们的结婚照。
Now they are old. They were young, then.
Now they are fat . They were thin ,then.
引出were ,并运用单词卡片,男女生,排齐读操练。
利用卡片重点操练was ,were.
6)幻灯片出示四幅图片,让孩子们看图用is,was, are, were填空补全句子。
Look at these pictures. Fill in the blanks.
1.She _________two then.
2.Her hair _________so short.Now her hair _________long.
3.Then they _________young. Now they _________old.
7)幻灯片出示四幅图片,让孩子们看图选择正确的句子。

五、家庭作业
办一张英语小报,贴上自己或家人的照片,并使用 “was” “were”描述从过去到现在发生的变化,下节课在班内用英语展示交流。
