教材分析：本单元 Reading 部分主要介绍了Ashrita Furman 挑战吉尼斯世界纪录的成就,他的成长经历以及获得这些成就的精神动力.文章主体”路永载前方”激励学生认识自己的潜力,找到精神动力的源泉,实现梦想.

三维目标：

Knowledge aims:

1．Get the students to learn some useful new words and expressions.

2．Master the important sentences.

Ability aims:

1. Enable students to learn something about Guinness records.

2. Enable students to learn the spirit of perseverance, determination which leads to success.

3. Develop the students’ reading ability.

Emotional aims:

1．Get students to become interested in reading

2．Develop students' sense of group cooperation.

重难点：

1. Learn about the spirit of becoming successful in sports.

2. Master the key words and expressions in this lesson.

3. Learn the sentence patterns.

教学过程

Step : Revision

1．Have a dictation

2. Check the homework.

Step 2: Leading in

1.Show students pictures about some famous athletes to let them know something about these people.

2.Ask students some questions.

1) Who are the athletes in the pictures?

2) Why are they famous? Give reasons.

Step3: Pre-reading

1.Show students some pictures which occur in the text,then let them know the names of the activities and the way to do them.

2.Let students experience one or more of these.

Step4: Listen and fast-reading

Listen to and skim the text, then answer the questions.

教学反思：本堂课精心设计教学活动,使学生能够通过完成具体的任务来学习和巩固语言,积累学习经验和享受成功的喜悦.授课中药重视学生的个性和兴趣,教师可以通过多媒体技术为学生创设各种语言学习环境,提供丰富的教学资源,拓宽学生的学习渠道和学习方式.

通过小组活动,培养合作探究能力.学生的每一个活动都具有明确的目的指向和具体的操作要求,实现了英语在真实情境中的应用.

尽量以学生为主体,任务型教学为主线,合作教学为原则,辅助以多媒体教学手段,突出交际性,重视读写的实用性,重视学习策略的培养以及个体差异.不仅要培养学生的听说读写能力,而且要使学生具有适应社会的能力.
