Students’ Activities



Step 1 warming up

Free talk about the native country where English was originally spoken.

Step 2 Pre— reading Activity

Check what the Ss have known about the UK.

Step 3 Fast reading

Encourage the Ss to gather whatever information they can find.

Eg.

1. Great Britain was the name given when England and Wales were joined to Scotland.

2. In the 19th century the industrial cities built in Midlands and North England

Home work:

Read the text fluently try to retell something about UK in history.



Give possible answers, for example, England, Britain, the UK…

List the things that you have known about the country.

List the things that you want to know about the country.

Read the passage quickly and search for any information they notice.
