Show students a cartoon movie named Cable Car Chaos about the cartoon character Mickey and Minnie. Then ask them about the three persons: Walt Disney, Mickey and Minnie. Tell students what we are doing to learn in this lesson.

Listening. Ask students to listen to the material, then find out the best tile for this passage. Pay attention to the pronunciation.

Scanning. Read the passage fast and loudly. Then fill in the timeline. They had better give the full sentences.

Paragraph One. Ask two students to read the first papa, then others pay attention to the information of Mickey and Walt Disney. Fill in the Information card of them. Then try to say something about Mickey.

Paragraph Two. Read the second one, then answer my questions:

Why did Mickey become so popular?

Why did people want to be like Mickey?

What was Mickey like in his early films?

Paragraph Three. Read the para, then tell T or F. Tell others the reason for being wrong.
