(l893 --l98l ), China She is a specialist in women's illnesses. She devoted all her life to medical work for Chinese women and children. Her work encouraged many other women to become doctors. Lin Qiaozhi

(l90l--l983), China She helped found an international campaign to stop the use of landmines. She and her organization were given the Nobel Peace Prize in l997.
